Before the media and the fans rip what’s still left of Chris Brown’s music career to pieces, as it has been speculated would happen when he comes out with something new, it looks like it’s the singer himself who’s having issues. The 19 year old has been having problems concentrating in the studio, his friend, Tyrese Gibson, is telling People magazine, and it’s all because of the Rihanna scandal.

Gibson says that, no matter how much Brown is trying to put the February 8 incident past him and go on with his life and music, there are times when he feels really down and cannot focus on recording as he should.

Because of the media backlash that started within hours after Brown reportedly lashed out at his girlfriend Rihanna and beat her to a pulp, the singer can’t forget about all the negativity and lay down some tracks as he would want to, Gibson explains.

“It’s really hard for him to focus right now on his music, even though he really wants to. At the end of the day, I’m not trying to justify it because wrong is wrong, but unfortunately, us as entertainers, we have to grow up on stage with a lot of people looking at us. And a lot of people forget that he’s 19, she’s only 21.” Tyrese shares for the aforementioned publication.

With all this, Brown still enjoys the support of his closest friends, Gibson and Diddy being just two of them. Still, he cannot let go of the incident and what’s being written in the media about him and focus on what’s really important, namely, his music. Then again, even if he did, releasing something new at this point would be almost redundant, since fans, and the public opinion in general, are still very much shocked about what happened on February 8 between Brown and Rihanna, music insiders believe.

“Although he appears to be really strong through all of this, it’s really taking a toll on his spirit. People like me and Puff, we're just trying to show him love and keep his spirits up while he’s going through all of the heat, and there are a lot people doing the same for Rihanna.” Gibson further points out.

After being charged with domestic abuse and making terrorist threats against Rihanna, Chris Brown is now awaiting an appearance in court for his arraignment, which will take place on April 6.
