Now that the Rihanna scandal has almost blown over, Chris Brown is moving on with his life and, of course, his music career. Thus, the singer will reportedly be approaching a new sound for his upcoming single, one that fans probably did not even expect. As writer and producer Robert Allen says (via MTV News), Brown is going country.

Allen has been holed up in the studio with Chris Brown for quite some time and, while not yet willing to reveal more juicy details on the forthcoming album, that much he’ll say: it also includes a track called “Trapped in a Dream,” which is actually a country song. Chances are big that “Trapped in a Dream” be released as a single, but when this happens has not yet been revealed to the media.

“Maybe we’ll see an appearance from Carrie Underwood or someone like that.” Allen tells the media, as quoted by MTV. “It’s that kind of song. [It’s] just feeling like you don’t want that dream to go away. Everybody has a dream and you’re in it, but you wake up and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God.’ You feel like you’re still in that dream.” the producer further explains.

In the same interview, Allen also spills the beans on how work on the album is going, saying that they try to leave Brown’s legal issues at the door to be able to concentrate exclusively on making music. “We just focus on music. We’re just happy-go-lucky people who just get into the studio as much as possible.” the producer adds, as per the aforementioned source.

Although Robert Allen refused to reveal more details on what exactly Chris Brown is working on right now, and Brown’s publicist was not immediately available for comment, the above could be seen as very good news by fans of the young singer. Back in March, Chris’ close friend Tyrese Gibson was telling the media that the entire Rihanna scandal had taken its toll on his career to the point where he was no longer able to get back in the studio and lay down something new, which prompted many to speculate on whether Brown would ever be able to redeem himself as an artist with the public.
