14 DAY TRIAL // As if the media backlash was not enough for Chris Brown to handle at the moment in the aftermath of the February 8 alleged altercation, and the criminal charges that will possibly be pinned on him for it, he also lives in fear of losing his life. Reports are coming in from industry insiders saying that Brown has upped the security around him to protect him from those who might want to harm him for what he reportedly did to his girlfriend Rihanna.
Apparently, the 19-year-old singer has started receiving threats to his personal safety ever since the police photo that showed the extent of Rihanna’s injuries leaked on the Internet. Not only that, but he is also in a difficult position as to his future in music, granted he escapes unharmed from the hands of Rihanna’s fans and high-placed connections, it is being pointed out.
“Chris is scared. Not only did he probably lose his career and his girlfriend, but he’s also fearing for his security and his life.” an unnamed source tells InTouch Weekly. “Chris is a marked man. He faces criminal charges and possible jail time, but he’s going to have to deal with Rihanna’s legion of fans and her close-knit friends in the industry. That photo was the last straw. The threats started pouring in the moment that appeared online.” another spy adds for the same magazine.
This is not the first time that word of people wanting to get back at Brown for what he did to Rihanna emerges. Days after the altercation that left Rihanna with several contusions, a broken lip, bloody nose and bite marks on her body, Jay Z, the man who made her a star and also assumed the role of a father figure, was reportedly furious at Brown’s behavior. “Chris Brown is a walking dead man,” Jay Z allegedly warned when he heard the news of the altercation.
Chris Brown is due in court on March 5. Adding to the charges of making criminal threats and domestic abuse, the DA might also try to pin an attempted murder charge on him, given the extent of Rihanna’s injuries and the words that Brown himself is said to have uttered as he beat her.
