Come May 5, his sixth studio album will finally be out in music stores

Initially scheduled for release in July 2013 but repeatedly delayed because of problems in Chris Brown’s life, including trouble with the law and a rehab stint, “X,” his sixth studio album, has finally gotten a release date.

“‘X’ is by far my best album yet.... Setting the date for MAY 5,” Chris Brown announced his legions of fans on Twitter over the weekend.

With the announcement, he also posted some official artwork, which I presume will be used for the cover. You can see it below, but suffice it to say that it’s taking a minimalistic concept and runs with it, as it features a black-and-white photo of Chris with “X” in red over it.

Also over the weekend, a brand new single off “X” has dropped, one that I can’t even mention here by name, let alone embed it. It’s a collaboration with Tyga and it’s named after that B-word so often used in reference to women.

It’s available on YouTube if you’re curious about what Chris has in store for us come May, but you should probably know it’s not the kind of song you’d listen to with your boss / mother / someone who is easily offended around.
