SkyWeaver, the developer behind the popular Chorus app that allows users to connect with friends and find apps, has just announced that availability of the Symbian version of the application.

Initially launched for the iOS platform, Chorus is now available for Nokia smartphone users and is customized in six languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and Russian).

In addition, the application features support for a wide range of screen sizes and keyboard or touch input, but it's only compatible with Symbian-based handsets.

Chorus is based on the developer's proprietary Social Genome technology, which makes it possible to match a user's interests with that of other Chorus users and their friends to help the user find the applications that best suits his needs.

Our collaboration with Nokia means a seamless experience for Nokia's Ovi Store customers. Chorus accelerates app discovery and downloads, amplifying interests of the individual user in their social graph,” said Manish Jha CEO of SkyWeaver, the company behind Chorus.

Basically, Chorus provides Nokia users application recommendations based on interests and friends' likes and dislikes.

To recommend an app to a friend, open the application on the Nokia smartphone, tap on the “Apps” icon and find the app. After selecting the app, simply click on the button that says “Recommend to Friends” and follow the instructions on the screen.

Sharing app preferences with friends and getting social based recommendations are some of the most requested features among Nokia smartphone users. Through the Chorus app, this experience is now easier,” said Imdat Solak, VP Ovi Store, Nokia.

Although the current versions of Chorus only work with iOS and Nokia smartphones, the developers plan to release the application for other mobile devices as well.

The application is now available as a free download from Ovi Store and is compatible with all Nokia smartphones running Symbian S60 operating system.
