Wearing the right jeans – you’re not born with it, but you can learn

With the dazzling trends and tendencies for jeans, it’s no wonder that the fashionista in you gets a bit confused sometimes. Still, when you’re out to buy jeans, there are a couple of things you need to know – like what is “a perfect match” for you in terms of color, size, rise and cut. However, first off, you should not be scared or intimidated by the fact that the “rules to follow” are too many because looking good is, in the end, also a matter of choice, as well as something as priceless and rewarding as it gets.

In terms of color, we all know that regular denims, that is, the blue kind, go with virtually anything (and with any body type). Still, it’s black jeans that usually rock the show and, if they have the right cut, they have the potential to make you drop dead gorgeous. Match them with a pair of trendy pumps, and not only will you “get” long and slim legs, but you’ll also be up to date with what’s hot on the scene. Don't make the mistake of believing that, if you buy a pair of tight jeans, you'll instantly look skinnier than you really are, so stick to your own size and avoid the “stuffed” look, where your pants seem dangerously on the verge of tearing whenever you move slightly. Also, bear in mind that all jeans, no matter the brand, shrink a bit after they're washed for the first time.

A fashion crime to be avoided by those with a long torso would definitely be wearing low-rise jeans, as they make one look disproportionate. Quite the opposite, lucky, long-legged women can comfortably stick to medium or low rise, and hip-tight denims. Having in mind the shoes you’re to pair the newly acquired jeans with would also be recommended, as you should not even think about wearing the same pair with flats and with high-heels.

By now, designers have already made up their minds when it comes to denims for the next season. If you like authenticity and being true to yourself and to fashion, you'll definitely try on, and possibly buy, one of those “boyfriend jeans” everybody's been talking about. Or maybe you'll just stick to the skinny jeans that you've been wearing for the last couple of years. Both options are trendy, as long as you choose wisely.
