Mozilla has just released a new version of its Firefox customization extension Personas. The feature allows users to change the look of their browser with easy to install themes from a gallery that now boasts close to 30,000 models to choose from. Personas 1.3 introduces the possibility to automatically change the theme after a set period of time from a selection of favorites.

“We’re pleased to announce Personas 1.3, a new version of the add-on that lets you choose your favorite personas from a gallery of nearly 30,000 designs and then select them directly from your add-on. Wear them one at a time or let Personas periodically pick one at random!,” Suneel Gupta and Myk Melez wrote for the Personas team. “See a design you particularly like in the Personas gallery? Click view details to see detailed information about the persona, then add it to your favorites by clicking the add to favorites star.”

With so many designs it's becoming increasingly hard to find all of the great ones and at the same time, with so many to choose from, settling for just one seems unfair. But with the latest version of the Firefox extension users won't have to choose between the themes they like, they can have them all. Users can build up a collection of favorite designs by browsing through the extensive online Gallery and selecting the ones that catch their eyes.

The favorite designs they have selected will then be available from inside the extension by using the small logo button in the lower left corner of the browser and they can pick one or all of them if they want to. There is also the possibility to view all of the favorites users have selected by going to the online gallery and choosing the “All” category and then the “Favorites” submenu. Using favorites though requires a Personas account to be set up.
