Users that already have the game can play it right now

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a brutal multiplayer game that pits players against one another, but using medieval weapons and tactics. It's insanely fun and now Linux users can also play it.

We wrote just a week ago that Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is preparing to land on the Linux platform and it looks like the devs have been working hard to make that happen. They now have a Beta client of the game available for anyone who already owns the title and it's pretty easy to install and to test.

Not many people would have bet that a game like Chivalry: Medieval Warfare would become insanely successful, but it happened and it's easy to understand why the Linux users wanted to get a piece of the action. This is still under development, but the good news is that the more people test the game, the faster it will be made available for their platform.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare looks chaotic and the gameplay is hard to describe

If you're thinking that in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare you'll be able to dress like knight and take part in massive battles, you'll only be describing half of the gameplay. The other half is where you die horribly and fast, just like it would happen in a real conflict. Many times it will be from backstabbing and arrows, so there is little glory to be had, unless your team wins.

"Everyone who owns Chivalry should now have access to the Linux and OS X versions. Currently you will need to switch to a Beta branch to access this, the 'linuxtesting' branch (for both OS X and Linux). To access the port testing beta from the Desktop Steam client, right-click on Chivalry in the library, click Properties, click on the BETAS tab, and choose linuxtesting from the drop-down," said the devs on Reddit.

From the looks of it, the port is pretty much on par with the Windows version and the users have reported that things are working very well, which is a good thing given the fact that it's still a Beta.

We'll inform you when the final version is released.
