Apple has confirmed today that some of the cool new features in Mountain Lion are specifically designed with the Chinese user in mind.

“Mountain Lion […] has features specifically designed to support Chinese users,” the Mac maker said in a press release today.

The company has made “significant enhancements” to the input method used by Chinese customers. Chinese-speaking users will have the option to select Baidu search in Safari and they’ll be able to easily to set up their Contacts, Mail and Calendar with top email service providers QQ, 126 and 163.

When Mountain Lion launches this summer, Chinese users will be able to upload videos via Share Sheets - another new feature in OS X 10.8 - directly to video sharing sites like Youku and Tudou, Apple said.

Finally, Chinese users who aren’t too fond of Twitter will get system-wide support for Sina weibo, the country’s popular microblogging service.
