To avoid falling asleep during study sessions, students get creative

When caffeine hits or exercising breaks don't work anymore, and the need to sleep is too big to pull off another all-nighter in order to study, some may come up with rather painful methods to stay awake, with a literary approach to the phrase “No pain, no gain.”

Chinese students struggling with huge workload and crazy amounts of study materials came up with an interesting but bizarre method of staying awake, by strapping their hair to a beam in the ceiling that would cause pain every time they dozed off, making it impossible to fall asleep.

Finding inspiration in history books about scholars using painful methods of staying alert, the 20-year-old student took a clothes’ dryer, and tied her long locks of hair to it. She claimed the method worked incredibly well and helped her not lose focus during her study sessions, according to Women of China.

The photo of the girl studying with her hair tied up to the clothes’ dryer went viral, inspiring others in their last-moment study sessions. My question is, how long does it take to get your hair out of that thing, what if you have to use the restroom, do you take it with you?
