China is the paradise of replicas, shipping at affordable prices

It’s not exactly a novelty that some Chinese tablet manufacturers are down-right copying the design of established products like the iPad. We have seen countless knock-offs come out of Asia and some are actually a very good replica of the original, complete with a decent list of specs.

Anyway, it seems Samsung doesn’t seem to attract the same enthusiasm when it comes to cloning, or at least this didn't seem to be the case, until now. But VOYO’s latest tablet product, seriously gives us Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) vibes, complete with the smart pen functionality.

Meet the Q101S, VOYO’s latest tablet effort that offers 3G and added support for the TD-SCDMA 3G and WCDMA 3G networks.

Even if the VOYO Q101S is quite reminiscent of the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) with faux-leather and everything, its specifications aren't as powerful as the latter’s.

Albeit sporting a large 10.1-inch screen, the resolution doesn't live up to the expectation, being a meager 1280 x 800. The screen is said to be anti-glare, so it should supposedly be good for use in outdoor and indoor environments. By comparison, the Samsung tablet has a powerful 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution attached to the 10.1-inch screen.

Under VOYO Q101S’ hood lies a quad-core A7 MT6582 processor clocked at 1.8GHz with ARM Mali 400MP4 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. This is certainly not bad, but in comparison to Samsung’s offering it pales pretty quickly. Sammy’s tablet packs an octa-core Exynos chip clocked at 1.9GHz with 3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage.

Adding spacious battery packs to their tablet doesn't seem to be a problem for Chinese manufacturers and the VOYO Q101S is no exception, as it's being kept alive by a 7,000 mAh battery.

VOYO claims the large battery doesn't influence the thickness of the device, which is kept under the control at a sleek 8.9 mm / 0.3 inches. However, this is noticeably thicker than the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition).

Like Samsung’s product, the VOYO ships with a smart stylus that’s said to be a good companion for operations necessitating accurate and dedicate input.

So there you have it, if you have been mulling over a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) but the premium price-tag has kept you at bay from one, you should be considering the Chinese counterpart.

Granted, you won’t be getting the high-end specifications in the pack, but the feel and the look are retained pretty well by the VOYO Q101S. Not to mention the slate will arrive on the market for a ridiculous $162 / €116.
