A giant camera design popped up in the Jiulongpo district of Chongqing and has become the new attraction of the great Chinese city. The structure is actually a public toilet and shows that modern architecture can be applied to all kinds of buildings.

Normally, when people need to use a public toilet, the first thing they ask is whether it’s clean and functional. From now on, Chinese people may pay attention to other aspects as well, like the exterior design.

According to Metro, this unusual toilet includes five unisex loos with the entrance in the back. The toilet’s exterior looks exactly like a giant digital camera, equipped with lens, buttons, flash and more.

It is situated on the busy Yuzhou Road in Chongqinp, in the proximity of a market that specializes in electronics and computers.

This public bathroom is part of a bigger project designed by the Environmental Art Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, which will include 23 toilets resembling animals, cameras, computers, mobile phones and power transformers.

The project is based on an interesting philosophy which says that the design of any public restroom should reflect the economic and cultural characteristics of the area in which it’s located.

It seems that the organization in charge of the project plans to show its creativity transforming a series of public toilets in modern architecture designs.
