We have been seeing iPad Mini clones coming out of China for a while now, but it appears some manufacturers are pushing things a little bit further.

Chinese company Onda worked fast enough and managed to produce an iPad Air twin in less than two months. And if the iPad Air comes with a consistent price tag, the V975M (not a very classy name) will ship for just $160 / €118.

The slate even incorporates a Retina Display so it’s definitely something worth looking into. Spec-wise, the V975M bundles an Amlogic M802 CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM and Mali 450MP GPU.

There’s one 5MP front camera on board and Android 4.2.2 as the default operating system.

The 9.7-inch screen features a superb 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. According to GizChina, the device managed to score 30,000 points in the AnTuTu bench mark tests, which is pretty impressive for a no-name device with such a low price tag.

Remember that the upcoming 12.2-inch Samsung slate scored 35,901 points and this is a device produced by a brand vendor, so you’d expect decent results.

It appears that international retailers are going to pick up this iPad Air clone soon enough, so if you’re lucky you might be able grab one yourself.
