It's been two years since Apple has released new iPhone models in September, so you may not be off by far if you say the new iPhone 6 will also be out in two months.

However, the Chinese media has some new info on this and they say they've got the actual release date and specs. TechChine says the new iPhone 6 will be released not in one, but two different models: a 4.7" screen and a 5.5" one. The big iPhone, will however, be delayed by production issues.

The source goes on writing that the big iPhone will be called "iPhone Air". The new name suggests that Apple will take some cues from the iPad line and will release a thin and light phone. This makes sense from the battery point of view. A larger case can accommodate the large but thin battery the 5.5" screen will need. Same reports suggest that the iPhone Air will come with a cheaper 16GB version for Chinese, Indian and European markets.

In order for Apple to release the new phone in the last week of September, Tim Cook's PR Department should send out media invitations on September the 15th. The actual event should take place on the following Friday, September the 19th.

Same sources say that Apple will be selling the new iPhone on September 25th in several markets around the world, mostly North America and Western Europe. The claims are not far fetched if you consider a similar calendar was in place for the iPhone 5, 5c and the latest iPhone 5s models Launch events.

Last month, two other sources claimed that Apple will release the new models on September 19th.

Cupertino-based Tech giant should come out with the new and improved iOS 8 around the same time. Developers have already received the second beta of iOS 8 and the third one is expected to be released on July 8th.

On apple.com, iOS 8 is presented as being "Huge for developers. Massive for everyone else". Apple will add a plethora of new innovations to existing apps, along with some new apps like HealthBook.

iOS 8 will improve the Photos app, bring new functionality to the Messages app and let developers come up with custom built keyboards.

The new operating system for iPhone and iPad will also have some time-saving features like "quick reply for Notifications". Apple now allows developers to create add-ons for Control Center so you can basically use just a part of an app that you need without opening the app itself.

Other features include a better and smarter Spotlight Search, better connectivity with OS X and more access for apps to the Touch ID fingerprint reader.
