China proves it is quite serious about eco-friendly innovations seeking to restore its low air quality. One of its hottest inventions is an all-terrain green car that could help us reach any destination, rolling on land, water and ice.

Surprisingly, the new prototype was conceived and developed by a very young designer, Yuhan Zhang, 21, for an auto competition backed by Volkswagen. The best part is that the car, suggestively entitled Volkswagen Aqua, is entirely earth-friendly, since it is powered by two hydrogen fuel cell engines.

One of the motors lifts the car off the ground while the other controls the direction. The task announced by the sponsor of the contest was to reveal the most impressive design for a “Chinese off-road vehicle,” Daily Mail informs.

The green vehicle is certainly something worth looking at and perhaps more than Volkswagen was hoping for. It manages to reach a top speed of 62mph and would help us save some cash otherwise spent on boat rentals during our trips.

The developer has announced the amazing-looking prototype releases no toxic car exhaust fumes into the atmosphere. At times when governments all across the globe are struggling to curb greenhouse gas emissions through strict standards and regulations, Volkswagen Aqua could provide all the right answers for a sustainable transportation sector.

It will most likely capture the attention of a large segment of potential buyers, since it can move on any kind of surface. Moreover, it was build using already exploited technology; therefore, it could be someday commercialized on a large scale.

“There is no better form of transport than an air cushion vehicle because it travels equally well over land, ice and water.I hope Aqua will become an affordable supercar that is available to the general public one day,” notes Yuhan Zhang.

Yuhan Zhang hopes that his eco-friendly futuristic car could be launched on the market in the near future. If this invention were to be backed further by important automakers, his ambitious dream could come true.
