Chinese EvilShadow hackers say they breached the sites because they hate India

The Chinese hacker 7z1 and his EvilShadow crew breached and defaced the main websites of Corporation Bank (corpbank.com) and Catholic Syrian Bank (csb.co.in), a couple of the most important financial institutions in India.

According to the hackers' blog, the Indian banks were targeted because of the country’s involvement in “the southern Tibet movement”.

7z1 told us that the sites were easy to breach, the main purpose of the operation being the fact that the hackers “hate” India and it’s attitude towards China and it’s military.

Currently, only the Corp Bank site is restored, but the bank hasn’t made any official statements regarding the incident.

The EvilShadow team is known in the international hacking scene for defacing the official India Microsoft Store. Apparently, the breach caused a lot of damage to the site as the online store is still unavailable.
