The Pengcheng Space Capsules Hotel in Shenzhen, China has everything space lovers need: bed capsules, robots, neons, shiny futuristic furniture and a system that is mostly carried out by machines.
The Hotel combined the Japanese concept of capsule hotels with the minimalistic trend and futuristic vibe resulting in an amazing tourist attraction. The rooms and hallways are mostly white, filled with blue neons and shiny surfaces, attended by tiny robots.
People who visited the hotel wonder if there are any humans working there because they mostly saw robots. According to the Nanfang Insider, “although the hotel will have somebody on reception 24 hour a day, there are robots to do the menial tasks. Moreover, in the coffee shop on the 1st floor, diners order their meal on tablet computers that are provided.”
The doorman is a robot and every order is computerized, humans just supervise the work of robots. Besides the fact that the hotel looks amazing and the spaceship-style rooms are a big hit with guests, the price is really affordable, with rooms starting from $11.5 (€8.5) a night per person.
The hotel is situated in Shenzhen's Bao'an District and features all the facilities a capsule hotel usually has, such as lockers, washrooms and even a laundry room. In Japan, capsule hotels are really popular and affordable as well. In each capsule, the guests can find a TV, an alarm clock, a light and many other facilities a hotel generally provides.
