
Yan Xiaohong, deputy commissioner of National Copyright Administration of China hosted a press conference in which he emphasized China's commitment to endorse governmental Internet anti-piracy
policies. With more than 123 million Internet users and 788,400 websites at an early stage of development as the Chine Internet medium is still in its infancy, the Chinese market is still the second largest in the world second only to the US. According to Yan Xiaohong, the Chinese government is preparing the implementation of an Internet anti-piracy system that will monitor online traffic in order to identify unlicensed materials.
Metrics from Business Software Alliance market analysis have revealed that the present status of Chinese piracy at 86%. The current level of piracy is in actuality a positive step for anti-piracy efforts as the phenomenon has dropped from in excess of 90%. Xiaohong has revealed that the anti-piracy system will control the online traffic of copyrighted materials and will black sharing and downloading unless the files will have express permission from the copyright owner. The Chinese National Copyright Administration will introduce an authentication center complete with the Internet based copyright protection system that will regulate the online traffic of intellectual property.
