Not very long ago, China played host to the world's first International Goldfish Championship.

This competition brought together about 3,000 such aquatic creatures, together with their owners, and a panel of judges had to carefully assess each and every specimen in order to make sure the “World Goldfish Queen” crowned at the end was indeed the most beautiful fish in the room.

Sources report that the main criteria for singling out the winner of this competition were breed, body shape, swimming gesture, color and overall impression.

Apparently, the fish that eventually won the competition pleased the judges by being... pleasantly plump.

Thus, it weighed 1.75 kilograms (3.9 pounds), and managed to carry its curves with extreme swiftness as it swam inside its little bowl.
