Surprises, surprises and more surprises. Microsoft has just started sending out invites to Chinese media for the Windows 8 launch event that will take place on… October 23!

This basically means that China will get the first look at Windows 8 three days ahead of everyone else.

While it’s not yet clear whether Microsoft plans to start shipping the operating system in the country the next day after the launch or on October 26 as in the rest of the world, both the Windows 8 and the Surface tablet will be unveiled to Chinese geeks three days earlier.

The reason is not yet known however, but at least we’ll have the chance to get a taste of the new OS a bit earlier.

Even though it’ll come in a language we don’t quite know.
