Redmond exposes users to unnecessary risks, it said

Microsoft will be soon retiring Windows XP, but not everyone is willing to migrate to a newer operating system before the April 8, 2014 end of support date comes.

China, for example, calls for Microsoft to extend support for Windows XP, saying that many government computers are still running this particular OS version.

What’s more, government officials are claiming that Microsoft exposes them to unnecessary risks, adding that Microsoft should at least keep Windows XP alive because they paid for a legitimate license instead of using pirate software.

Last but not least, Chinese officials are claiming that a potential transition to Windows 8 is too expensive, so the modern operating system currently has a 3 percent market share in the country.

Of course, Microsoft hasn’t yet released a statement on this, but given the fact that the company wants so much to get rid of Windows XP, do not expect a sudden change of heart.
