China has taken drastic measures against the flourishing chemical and pharmaceutical industry that promises women magic results if they are unsatisfied with the size of their breasts or with too many pounds of extra fat around the waist.
Today, a statement about the temporary ban was released by government officials:
'All television and radio broadcasting organizations must suspend the airing of sales programs advertising medical products, medical equipment, slimming and figure enhancing treatments, or heightening products, until new regulations on such programs can be issued and implemented'.
There was no direct reference to any product or network in particular, but estimates show that, out of the 53 television channels presently airing in China, 18 broadcast this kind of commercials on a daily basis.

The ban will take effect from August 1st and it comes under the violation of consumers' rights, by endangering their health and selling them almost 'fake' products. Official spokespersons stated that these kind of ads sell dangerous products or, in the most lucky cases, items that are completely useless.
They offered the Ao Mei Ding case as an example of just how damaging beauty products can be. In May, China banned the breast enlarging liquid, produced by Fu Hua Pharmaceutical, after it was injected into more than 300,000 women and most of them were later in such pains that they had to have both their breasts removed.
