14 DAY TRIAL // Chillingo has released a new game for owners of an Apple iPad - Infinity Field. Described as a dual-stick space-age shooter game, Infinity Field puts players in a spaceship that they must pilot through a field of enemies, guiding it with an analogue stick while blasting enemies.
The official description (iTunes link) reveals that players must “Use the intuitive and familiar dual stick controls to guide your craft through the field of enemies with one analogue stick while at the same time clearing a path with your blaster.”
“The darkness of space never looked so bright, vibrant and colorful enemies of all shapes and sizes fill the screen and explode in a hail of bullets in glorious HD as you blast your way to a new high score”, says Chillingo, the maker of the immensely popular ‘Cut the Rope’ game for iPhone.
Players collect power-ups as they progress through the game, turning their once-regular cannon into “a myriad of ultra powerful weapons.”
Shooting enemies down can be done either by aiming at thm directly, or by firing bullets in every direction so that they ricochet off the walls and into the bad guys.
Special weapons include lasers, bombs and more.
The game presents players with six survival modes, including – Zombie, Snake and Insane mode, as well as a full campaign mode with more challenging gameplay.
This includes boss fights and multiplayer.
Although Infinity Field is fully integrated with Crystal, the player-ranking platform, it also features support for Game Center, Apple’s own platform for iOS gamers.
According to Chillingo, there are tons of achievements to be collected in the game.
“Go head to head with your friends and compete for the highest score out there!” the developer says.
