14 DAY TRIAL // Cut the Rope fans will be delighted to learn that Chillingo has released a companion app featuring 25 Christmas-themed levels, making it available completely free of charge through the iTunes App Store.
Developed by Chillingo Ltd. and published by ZeptoLab, Cut the Rope is one of the most popular puzzle games ever released for Apple’s iOS-based devices.
ZeptoLab now wants to thank all Om Nom fans by giving them “an all-new Holiday Gift featuring a great new stocking feature that magically shoots the Candy round the box.”

The app, touted as a companion to the full-version Cut The Rope, is described as follows: “A mysterious holiday package has arrived, and the creature inside has only one request…CANDY! Help get the candy to Om Nom, the adorable monster, in this free companion to the highly innovative and addictive puzzle game, Cut the Rope.
Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift combines outstanding physics, devilishly tricky levels, and bright colorful visuals with a special winter feel.”
As with the original game, In Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift, players don’t just need to feed Om Nom. In order to get maximum points, they will also need to collect three golden stars in each stage.
The control scheme in Cut the Rope couldn’t be simpler. Players swipe their finger across the ropes and collect the stars by touching them with the candy.
As expected, levels become increasingly difficult as the player progresses through the game.
Some levels require a lot of thinking before slicing trough even the first rope, which may force some players to abandon the game and pick up on Rovio’s Angry Birds which, coincidentally, also features a Holiday release (check it out here).
