Chris Byatte and Joe Wee, the founders of Chillingo, announce that they are leaving the studio, which is now part of Electronic Arts, but have not offered any details about long-term plans or about their involvement with gaming.

A statement from a representative sent to MCV reads: “I can confirm that Chris and Joe have left EA and Chillingo but other than that there is no further statement from us at this time.”

Electronic Arts has been losing a number of key personnel in the last few weeks.

Dave Roberts, the chief executive officer of PopCap Games, announced that he was retiring last week and that John Vechey was taking over the role and leading the company in its future projects.

Criterion Games founders Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry have also departed EA and they are aiming to create their own studio and work on a new title.
