Cúram Software, a provider of Social Enterprise Management (SEM) software solutions, has launched the Cúram for Child Welfare iPhone application whose purpose is to provide child welfare caseworkers mobile access to real-time information in the field.

Thanks to their new iPhone app, which should be approved by Apple momentarily, child welfare staff can facilitate the identification of clients in a given area, as well as prioritize those clients most in need of a visit.

The software offers the tools to initiate case interviews, process emergency placements, and even enables investigators to perform real-time searches and updates to cases.

Commenting on the release of Cúram for Child Welfare, Oisin Clarke, executive vice president of product development, Cúram Software, said: “Caseworkers are required to make regular contact with children and families on their caseloads and to document those interactions.”

“Unfortunately a lot of valuable time is spent in the office researching local providers and recording activities,” Clarke added.

“The Cúram for Child Welfare iPhone App leverages the native capabilities of the iPhone, providing access to client and provider contact details, GPS driven mapping and directions in support of the case investigation process, keeping caseworkers on the front line longer where they can spend more time with, and ultimately, improve outcomes for their clients,” said Clarke.

When they download and install the app from the iTunes App Store, investigators will be able to see clients in a map or list view grouped by due dates.

The app will allow a drill down for further detail and will identify emergency caregivers in the vicinity of a caseworker.

The list of features doesn’t stop here. According to Cúram Software, investigators will have the ability to record info like the names of the participants, the purpose, time, date, and location of a meeting, as well as save voice notes, picture, and even video.

Investigators can then submit this information in the form of a log to all required stakeholders in the system.

Cúram Software is unable to pinpoint the exact release date for their Child Welfare app, but they say it will be available in the App Store shortly.
