The Bon Jovi guitarist could be charged with child endangerment in addition to DUI

Richie Sambora was arrested for DUI but could face child endangerment charges

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora gives sobriety a bad name - and now it looks like the musician may have gotten himself into an even bigger mess than we originally suspected. Sambora was pulled over last night after policemen noticed his Hummer was "weaving within lanes". After failing several field sobriety tests, he was taken into custody and booked for DUI - but that's unfortunately not the end of the story for the trouble-making guitarist, who is now facing an even more serious accusation. The policemen who arrested Sambora in Laguna Beach, Calif., have revealed they are also investigating whether the Bon Jovi guitarist could also be held responsible for child endangerment, in addition to drunk driving.

Sambora was pulled over at 10:52 p.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway. Trouble is, he wasn't alone in the car, but accompanied by another adult and two children. Although the police declined to identify them, it is clear that one of the children was the guitarist's 10-year-old daughter, Ava. "The officers smelled alcohol on his breath and did several field sobriety tests. He failed [all of them] and was arrested", revealed the police officer who arrested Sambora. The guitarist took a blood test to determine his blood alcohol levels, and the results are expected to come within a week. "If test results are positive, we could add child endangerment onto a misdemeanor DUI charge", the officer added, also mentioning that the Bon Jovi singer was "very cooperative, very nice and quiet" during his booking.

Sambora is due to appear in court on May 7th to answer for his offences. The guitarist's troubles with alcohol are well-documented: last year, he underwent detox at the UCLA Medical Center and later checked himself into the Cirque Lodge rehab center in Utah, which many other celebrities attended in an attempt to fight their addictions and come clean (among them Lindsay Lohan and Eva Mendes). If he is found guilty of child endangerment, however, things could get much more complicated for Sambora. Syat tuned and we'll keep you up do date with all the hot news.
