The Pirate Bay counterattacks!

The action the world renowned peer-to-peer torrent tracker The Pirate Bay is trying to undertake is distracting the Police's attention from the matter at hand, namely it being charged for assisting copyright infringement, and brought to attention on the blog it has been keeping that it tried to cooperate with the Force on several occasions, but was ignored.

They claim to have announced the Police of some images being uploaded and shared via their service, that depict child abuse, but were simply ignored. This surfaced after a newspaper telephoned the tracker company to let them know about pictures of children being molested that were downloaded using their search engine, but the answer came as a shock.

Apparently, the Police are much too busy with the case they are trying to put together against The Pirate Bay's owners to care about anything else. After being contacted on several occasions about the pictures, the police wouldn't even bother to answer. The photos are still there, available for everybody. "Is the crackdown on file sharing of copyrighted material more of interest? Or do they want to smear the name of The Pirate Bay just before the upcoming trial?" The Pirate Bay asked rhetorically.

"Since July last year, we have several times turned to the police for advice about their legality. They have, on the other hand, only contacted us at one time and one time only," they added on their blog.

The trial soon to be held was foreshadowed by the IFPI's demands to have the torrent tracker blocked in Denmark by an Internet Service Provider (ISP in short), Tele2. This comes as a part of the awareness level that IFPI is trying to erect in all of the countries, regarding the ISPs need and duty to police their own networks against piracy and pirates.
