Cheryl Cole has always been hailed as a fashionista, given her passion for fashion and the desire to always look impeccable and trendy on the red carpet. As it turns out, Cheryl is also a bit of a shoe freak, owning no less than 2,000 pairs of them.

In the Christmas special issue of Grazia magazine, the petite singer and television star opens up a bit about how far her passion for shoes goes.

Hint: you might even find a pair of heels in her fridge, that's how far she's taken it.

“I hoard them all over the house: in cupboards in the kitchen, in the bathroom – every room,” Cheryl reveals for the aforementioned publication.

Being the hoarder that she is, she sometimes puts the shoes in the most unexpected places for safekeeping.

“There is a big chance when you open the fridge in my house there will be a pair of shoes at the bottom. I’ve always, always loved shoes but over the past few years I’ve definitely developed a proper fetish,” Cole explains.

Of course, her love for shoes began when she rose to fame and she realized she could use heels to give her a few extra inches in height.

“I actually own about 2,000 pairs of shoes – and that’s after giving quite a few away. Because I’m quite small, to me getting dressed is all about the heels,” she says.

Cheryl boasts of being able to dance and walk in shoes of all heights, but she insists her love isn't all that superficial.

For her, each pair means a special memory because she remembers the exact occasion she's worn it.

“For me, all shoes have memories – wearing them on a certain occasion like that means the shoe gets that memory,” she says.

“If I can’t wear them again I also can’t get rid of them because they are so linked to that emotion. I’m probably a bit bonkers like that,” Cheryl adds.

To make the most of her passion for heels, Cheryl is now designing a special collection for StylistPick and, she says, her goal is to design killer heels that don't kill your feet when you wear them.
