On her first public appearance since the US X Factor debacle, Cheryl Cole managed to surprise everybody by rocking a short, messy bob in the summer-perfect shade of caramel blonde.Since she’s Britain’s sweetheart, everything Cheryl does is bound to get media attention. If it’s a drastic change of look like this one, it’s no wonder women’s magazines are literally all over the story.
The other day, Cheryl came
out of her hiding to run some errands, rocking a sassy new bob that complimented her round face, in the perfect shade for the summer, as
Marie Claire also notes.
“We do love to keep an eye on Cheryl Cole’s ever changing locks, but even we were surprised when we heard rumors the songstress had swapped her tumbling dark tresses for a short blond new ‘do,” the publication says.
“Sure enough, snaps later surfaced of the starlet sporting lovely light locks, and a choppy, asymmetric bob,” Marie Claire notes.
The mag claims Cheryl opted for a change of look right before her 28th birthday. It even went to the trouble of finding out how she did it: with the help of an entire team of L’Oreal experts.
As any respectable fan of the petite television star must know, Cheryl is just one of the spokeswomen for L’Oreal, so it would make sense to turn to the brand for assistance with the new ‘do.
“We’ve managed to track down the lucky two in charge of Cheryl’s new ‘do – stylists Lisa Laudat and Amie Wilson,” Marie Claire writes.
“The pair transformed the singer’s tresses to a smoldering Smoky Quartz, first lightening her brunette locks with L’Oreal Paris Perfect Blonde,” says the same publication.
They finished off the look by applying “the semi-permanent, conditioning Casting Crème Gloss in number 8304, before finally chopping off her long locks.”
Wilson describes Cheryl’s new ‘do as “the smoky eye of hair,” saying it’s a dark blonde with “sparkles.” More photos of the star’s new look are
