Cheryl Cole is moving to take over the world as a solo artist: after the success of her debut album, Cheryl is preparing to release a follow-up, “Messy Little Raindrops,” complete with a diss at her ex husband, Ashley Cole.

The artwork for the album cover was released the other day, and it features the always stunning Cheryl striking a moody pose in fierce studded Louboutins and a girlie pink and orange mini-dress.

Word online has it that “Messy Little Raindrops” aims to establish Cheryl as an artist with depth, who can do more than bubbly pop music.

If the Daily Mail has it right, it will do just that – since it includes a track “Happy Tears” which was either written with cheating ex Ashley in mind or was heavily inspired in their breakup.

“I cried when I heard you were cheatin’ / I cried when I said I was leavin’ / I cried when my heart stopped believin’ / But I’m all out of tears,” the words to the song go.

Granted, the Mail points out, Cheryl did not write the lyrics herself, but she did have the final say in approving them – and, of course, she agreed to sing them so that must account for something.

Speaking of the album, Cheryl says she’s aiming high with its release, which is why she took so long in coming out with it, because she wanted it to be just perfect.

“I want it to be amazing, you know? I want people to be like, ‘Wow, I really, really enjoy this album,’ so I’m not going to put anything out until I feel like that,” the Mail quotes her as saying.

“Messy Little Raindrops” is out on November 1 but, until then, fans can look forward to Cheryl’s performing her latest single “Promise This” on X Factor.

Her second single off the upcoming album will be a powerful ballad, which will arrive sometimes around the winter holidays, X magazine writes, as per the Mail.

“The single after Promise This will be an enormo-ballard called The Flood, a massive, strong laden, Christmassy tear-jerker about wreckage, drowning and natural disaster love,” X informs.

“Be prepared to shed a tear or three, as Cheryl sadly croons, ‘You can’t hold onto water’,” the publication says.
