Another week, another set of new free characters for Blizzard's popular Heroes of the Storm multiplayer online battle arena experience, this time with the likes of Chen, Zagara, or Jaina becoming free to play, while Abathur and a couple of other skins have temporary discounts.
Heroes of the Storm is Blizzard's answer to highly popular experiences like Dota 2 or League of Legends, offering a similar type of multiplayer action but with quite a few new mechanics to lower the barrier of entry and entice teamwork.
The game entered closed beta last month, after spending most of 2014 under a closed technical alpha banner. It also received plenty of improved mechanics, not to mention a new hero - Thrall - as well as a new battleground, in the form of Sky Temple.
New free heroes are available
Now, for the week between February 10 and February 16, a new free hero rotation has been implemented into the free-to-play online experience, as quite a few characters have replaced last week's picks.
As such, from the Warcraft universe we have Malfurion, Jaina, and Chen, while the Diablo universe provides Valla and Tyrael, and the Starcraft franchise brings forth Tassadar and Zagara.
Bear in mind that Malfurion, Valla, Tassadar, Jaina, and Tyrael are available for free to all Heroes of the Storm players. Meanwhile, Zagara is unlocked only for those who've reached player level 12, while Chen is available for those at level 15 or higher.
New items are also discounted
For the current week, there are also a few new discounts available in the in-game store, according to the official website. Abathur as a hero has a price cut, while the Skelethur Abathur and the Glam Metal ETC skins are also sold with a discount for the next seven days.
Blizzard is expected to present the next hero coming to the game this week, in the form of the Lost Vikings, as well as some of the new skins coming to Heroes of the Storm, so keep your eyes peeled for more info.
