14 DAY TRIAL // The fangs and claws were out on Monday when comedian Chelsea Handler was invited to Piers Morgan's to talk about her upcoming projects. There was clearly not a friendly atmosphere on the set of Piers Morgan Live and it quickly degenerated into an all-out verbal brawl.
The 39-year-old comedian, who is also a host of her own television show, Chelsea Lately, admonished the British journalist by telling him “You can't even pay attention for 60 seconds. You're a terrible interviewer.”
Morgan was apparently annoyed with his guest who took to Twitter to post some updates during the commercial break and he wasn't afraid to speak up on air about the issue “You tweet very amusingly.” What he wasn't expecting was a very caustic Handler who, without missing a beat, replied “I wish you did.”
Piers threw back his head in a forced laughter and tried to soften and parry the blows that kept coming at him from all directions. “It doesn't matter how interesting I am. You signed up for this show,” she told him when he accused her of not being able to keep his interest in her alive.
To finish the embarrassing moment, Chelsea concluded bitterly “Well, maybe that's why your job is coming to an end.” This was followed by more nervous laughter from the host of the show, who clearly got told.
Later, Morgan took to Twitter to have the final word “If I'm such a ‘terrible interviewer’ @chelseahandler - how come everyone's now tweeting & debating our interview... mwah x,” although people might have already gotten the general idea.
