14 DAY TRIAL // Their relationship has been tabloid fodder for about 4 months, which is when they reportedly started dating. Taking things one step at a time, Chelsea Handler has confirmed she and hotelier Andre Balazs are an item.
In January this year, word got out online that the comedienne had found a new love interest in Balazs, who also once dated actress Uma Thurman.
Later reports suggested that she’d dumped rapper 50 Cent for Andre, and broke Fiddy’s heart in the process – but no one could actually say for sure if the two were an item or not.
The fact that Handler often likes to joke about her personal life did nothing in terms of making the rumors disappear.
Wonder no more: Chelsea has offered silent confirmation of the romance at a book launch, making a public appearance with Balazs, Us Magazine reports.
“The 36-year-old E! comedienne made her second public appearance with Balazs, her boyfriend of four months, while celebrating the launch of her fourth book, Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me, at the Boom Boom Room in NYC on Saturday,” the publication writes.
Us even has photo of the two – and, judging by it, there can be little doubt that they’re still very much in the puppy love stage.
Friend Heather McDonald says that one of the things that attracted Chelsea to Andre is the fact that he will not put up with her for too long, and she finds that terribly fascinating.
“He’s a babe. He’s very successful and he’s very nice. I think she’s met her match,” McDonald says, as cited by the aforementioned publication.
“He doesn’t put up with her, but in a fun way, which she loves. Chelsea likes when you don’t put up with her too much,” Heather adds.
According to Us, at the book launch, Handler counted on the support of other good friends as well, besides Balazs.
These included Josh Hartnett, Katie Couric, Vera Wang, Carla Gugino and Lucy Liu.
