14 DAY TRIAL // The Easter Bunny has brought a very special present to the Clinton family. It wasn't a presidential mandate for Hillary or Bill, it was a bundle of joy for their daughter, Chelsea. The former presidential daughter has announced publicly that she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting their first child later this year.
The news comes via People which is saying that the entire Clinton clan is now gushing over the baby that is going to be born later this year. The 34-year-old former First Daughter revealed the news on Thursday, April 17, while she took the podium at an event in New York event for the Clinton Foundation called No Ceiling: The Full Participation Project.
The project in question seeks to give power to women around the world, so it was a fitting occasion for Chelsea to announce that she was going to be a mother. “Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year,” Chelsea gushed.
At the moment, she doesn't care if it's going to be a boy or a girl, “I certainly feel all the better whether it’s a girl or a boy that she or he will grow up in world filled with so many strong female leaders,” she added. Chelsea has been married to Marc since 2010.
After the news reached the media, Chelsea was inundated with kind wishes from many people. She took to Twitter to thank those that have expressed their support, “Thank you for all of the kind words!”
Such a big news could not have gone unnoticed and it wasn't long until Bill and Hillary Clinton added their voices to those commenting on the matter. Bill seemed pretty enthused when he tweeted “Excited to add a new line to my Twitter bio … grandfather-to-be! Hillary and I are so happy for Chelsea and Marc.”
Hillary Clinton seemed to follow in the same path when she wrote on her profile: “My most exciting title yet: Grandmother-To-Be!”
Chelsea has previously expressed her wish to start a family this year and she hinted in an interview last year that she was getting some pressure from her famous mother on the matter. While speaking with Glamour Magazine, she said, “We want, God willing, to start a family. So we decided to make 2014 the Year of the Baby. And please call my mother and tell her that.”
