Cheetah3D users should check out the latest update to their favorite 3D modelling, rendering and animation solution, which improves MacOS X 10.5 (Leopard) compatibility and fixes a series of reported bugs. Cheetah3D 4.5.1 is available for $130 (single user license), with Cheetah3D 4 users being able to upgrade for free. Older Cheetah3D versions (1., 2. or 3.) will pay $60 for the upgrade.

Cheetah3D provides the most useful features you need to get the job done, and organizes them within a beautifully elegant user interface that's powerful, intuitive and quick to work with, according to cheetah3d.com. Performing truly advanced operations in Cheetah3D will seem like second nature very rapidly. Cheetah3D provides a level of productivity that you will be hard pressed to equal in software ten times the cost!

The lean, fast and elegant 3D modeling, rendering and animation package for MacOS X sports an easy learning curve, which makes it a great tool that offers many useful features from powerful polygon editing over advanced subdivision modeling to HDRI and radiosity renderings.

Cheetah3D 4.5.1 doesn't bring much, but it sure fixes much: memory leaks which could cause crashes and the bug in About Panel. It adds better Leopard compatibility, but since one of the bugs could cause a crash of Cheetah3D, the update is recommended to everyone, according to cheetah3d.com.

You can download and try out the demo version of Cheetah3d right HERE. This free version, of course, has limitations. Actually, it's just one: you can't save what you've worked on. But hey, at least you get to see it in action.
