Cheese, a Photobooth-inspired GNOME application for taking pictures and videos from a webcam which also includes graphical effects based on the gstreamer-backend, is now at version 3.7.3.

Highlights of Cheese 3.7.3:

• The application no longer returns to the video view after selecting an effect; • More g_thread_init() removals have been done; • --target-glib 2.32 has been added to the VALAFLAGS; • Calls to g_thread_init() in tests have been dropped;

“We got away with this for a while due to gstreamer's public dependency on libgthread, but as of bug 689043, gstreamer no longer does this so we now get link errors,” the changelog also stated.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official announcement.
