Kickstarter has become the funding platform for a lot of odd products, but the BounceLite is something we could actually see make a real difference if it manages to reach its goal and go into mainstream production.

The BounceLite – a product that has been proclaimed the “future of flash diffusion.” What this hotshoe flat accessory will actually be capable of doing is provide an adjustable diffuser, bounce card, and filter holder designed to play nice with most speedlights, all in one product.

So what makes the BounceLite more special than what’s already offered on the market in terms of flash diffusers?

If you’re familiar with Gary Fong, Flashbender, or Stofen, this product offers all their functionalities packed up into a single piece of hardware.

This means that the BounceLite comes equipped with a soft box, adjustable white card, and filter system. On top of that, it offers the option of shooting in normal flash mode without having to remove the diffuser.

BounceLite should also fit on flash heads regardless of their angle and photographers should be able to shoot in landscape or portrait with ease.

Moreover, the accessory invites off-camera use in order to create studio lighting.

One of the most appealing features of the BounceLite is its built-in filter system, which enables photographers to switch between filters extremely easily.

This is achieved by virtue of the filter cassette, which has been created in a manner that allows photographers to quickly change the color gel they want to use.

The cassette lives inside the diffuser, so the user can see exactly which filter is being used.

The team behind the BounceLite is offering two options, including “venue gels” and “adventure.” The former set is said to be ideal for color correction, while the latter should appeal to photographers looking to play with light.

Furthermore, a fun way of storing and keeping track or your filters is provided, in the form a dedicated filter wallet.

The BounceLite project also puts a big emphasis on the mountain system. This is made of an adjustable rubber strap option, which has been chosen over the less secure Velcro-based solution.

At the time of this writing, the BounceLit is already halfway through reaching its funding goal, and with 18 days to go, it might actually stand a chance of becoming a real-life product.

And you too can become a supporter for the campaign if you head on over to the official Kickstarter page and pledge £88 / $150 / €111.
