Microsoft is working on a new feature to display alarms on the lock screen

As I reported before, Windows Blue is very likely to pack a new feature that would allow specific apps to display alarms on the lock screen, pretty much in the same way as the built-in notification system.

While no details have been released until now, a video posted by BavoGames on YouTube reveals that a simple registry tweak could enable this feature in Windows Blue build 9385.

Basically, the Alarms Metro app is the only tool that currently works with the new feature, so this simple registry tweak should enable it to display alarms right on the lock screen.

The alert also provides two options to dismiss and to snooze the alarm, but clicking the notification won’t launch the app.

At this point, it’s not yet clear whether Microsoft plans to keep this option in the stable build of Blue too, but as can be seen in this leaked build, the company is at least considering doing so.
