A new variant of the Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship leaks out

Samsung pulled the veil off the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge earlier this month, but the company is also prepping several other variants to go along for the ride.

One of the major complaints related to Sammy’s new flagship products is that the new phones fail to arrive with a microSD card slot. But if recent reports are to be believed, the Korean tech giant is attempting to fix things and will also release the Galaxy S6 Active variant (rugged phone model).

Anyhow, a few days ago, it was revealed that Samsung would launch another variant, the Galaxy S6 Duos, in Russia where it would be marketed for $900 / €820 outright.

The smartphone is expected to go on sale in the country on April 16, when customers will be treated with the other versions of the Galaxy S6 too.

Unfortunately for the time being, we don’t have any confirmation that the smartphone will be available on other markets. It’s still interesting to see that Samsung has decided against releasing the dual-SIM phone in China and opted for Europe instead.

If you were wondering what the Galaxy S6 Duo looks like, an image depicting the live device got spotted on Twitter (as seen at GSM Arena). As you can see, the phone arrives with a larger SIM card tray, where customers can insert two nano-SIM cards.

Apart from that, the handset looks pretty similar to the Galaxy S6, and even if we don’t have a confirmation, it will probably be outfitted with similar specs.

The device is expected to ship out with a 5.1-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixel resolution) Super AMOLED display with 577ppi, a home-grown octa-core Exynos 7420 processor (Quad 2.1GHz with Quad 1.5GHz cores), plus 3GB of RAM. Naturally, the handset will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop with the latest version of TouchWiz on top.

On the other hand, Samsung might surprise us here and maybe throw in the microSD card slot, most of the company’s fans are mourning over.

Even if at this point it doesn't seem that the Galaxy S6 Edge will have a dual-SIM version, we wouldn't rule out the possibility of Samsung launching one later this year.
