In addition to many other changes, Microsoft is also planning to introduce a new Metro app in Windows 8.1 / Blue that would allow users to set up alarms in the Modern UI of the operating system.

Called simply “Alarms,” the new app has been spotted in Windows 8.1 / Blue build 9388, bringing three different major features, as it follows: alarm, timer, and stopwatch.

While the purpose of each option is pretty obvious, this is the first screenshot that shows the interface of the app, as Microsoft is working to improve it as we speak.

The final version of the Alarm app for Windows 8.1 / Blue is expected to be unveiled this summer, as the company is planning to launch a public beta of the operating system in June, while the final version is expected to see daylight in August.
