We don’t know if the iPhone 6c will become reality this year

Apple is poised to become once again the focus of the tech community when it will unveil new iPhone models later this fall.

Rumors related to the upcoming handsets have been abounding online lately, but they are divided when it comes to the tech giant's intentions regarding device nomenclature.

Are we going to see the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7 lineup? Trustworthy sources like KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo have been promoting the former scenario as the accurate one, but it remains to be seen whether this ends up being the case or not.

What’s more, the rumor mill can’t agree whether Apple will launch two iPhone models or three. At some point, we heard that the Cupertino tech giant was working towards revamping its plastic 2013 iPhone (5c) model. However, Ming-Chi Kuo says this won’t be the case in 2015.

Anyhow, while we wait to hear official information from Apple, designers have taken a moment and dreamed up how the successor of the iPhone 5c might actually look. The result is pretty amazing.

Would you pick up an iPhone 5c that looks like this?

As you might as well imagine, we’re talking about an iPhone with colorful cases similar to the ones the older model used.

But naturally, this concept also brings additional functions the 2013 model didn’t have. The video teaser we have embedded for you below says that the iPhone 6c vivid paint jobs can be matched to your unique Apple Watch strap.

The concept doesn’t give us an insight on the specs we might expect to see on board, but it makes sense to assume the cheaper iPhone will take advantage of a 4-inch display and Apple’s current-gen A8 system-on-chip.

By comparison, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models will be powered by Cupertino’s yet unannounced A9 chip, which will probably be manufactured by Samsung.

The two premium devices are poised to take advantage of Apple’s new, pressure sensitive Force Touch technology and come bundled with 2GB of RAM and a 12MP camera.

Rumors also indicate that Apple will be making use of Series 7000 aluminum in order to prevent another #bendgate scandal. This material is said to be 60% stronger than the current metal standard. Sapphire glass is said to be used exclusively on the iPhone 6s Plus.
