Windows 8.1 / Blue build 9385 reached the web yesterday, indicating that Microsoft is indeed very close to completing the development of the next Windows release.

While there are no details regarding the changes available in this new build, it most likely packs bug fixes and stability improvements, especially because the public beta is rumored to hit the shelves in June at the BUILD developer conference.

As far we can tell, Windows 8.1 build 9385 is indeed running faster, even though some of the built-in features are still in development stage and might not work as expected.

Unfortunately for Windows users, there’s still no Start button for the time being.

But if we are to trust all the rumors on the matter, the stable build is very likely to bring not only such a feature, but also an option to skip the Start Screen and boot directly to desktop.
