Check Out Windows 8.1’s Internet Sharing Options
Microsoft is integrating new Internet tethering settings in its next Windows release
Microsoft confirmed at the TechEd conference a couple of days ago that Windows 8.1 would come with enhanced Internet tethering options to allow users to share a specific broadband connection.A screenshot that reached the web a few hours ago shows the new settings displayed in the Metro Control Panel, indicating that users will be allowed to quickly turn on and off Internet sharing, while also being provided with basic info such as network name, password, and the number of connected devices.
In addition, Windows 8.1 will also monitor the bandwidth and display data usage, with two different options offered to users: show the estimated data use in the Networks list and set a specific entry as a metered connection.
These new settings have been found in the Enterprise build of Windows 8.1, but it’s not yet clear if the company is planning to bring them in the Pro version as well.
