Today Nikon unveiled the D800/D800E follow-up photographers have been craving for, entitled the Nikon D810.

After a two-year wait, the new device arrives with an improved 36.3MP full frame sensor without the Anti Aliasing filter or Optical Low Pass Filter.

The fresh model comes equipped with a Nikon EXPEED 4 image processor, which is said to be 30% faster and a lot more energy efficient, when compared to the EXPEED 3 engine.

In the autofocus department, the D810 borrows from the Nikon D4s taking advantage of the Multi-Cam 3500-FX AF sensor with 15 cross-type and 51 overall focusing points in total.

But the most striking improvements D810 camera owners will probably notice will be in the video department. For starters, there’s a new flat video profile that should help with coloring footage.

On top of that, the device will display zebra stripes when filming, so the user will know if a shot has not been properly exposed.

The camera bundles two microphones, so recording activities can now be performed in stereo rather than mono.

Anyway, if you’re curious about the performance of the new Nikon D810, the company has already posted a host of sample images and video, so go ahead and browse the gallery and take a look at the vid to get an idea.
