JBL might not sound too familiar, but it promises to take the iPod docking station concept to another level. Recently, the company decided to make a surprising update to their popular On Stage iPod docking station.

Therefore, the new
On Stage 3 system offers not only an improved and carefully crafted design but also a full featured remote control. Besides that, the system comes equipped with battery power, making it fully portable.

But, the smashing point feature is given by the fact that this device is even compatible with the mighty iPhone, using the supplied universal dock adapters designed to work with all iPod models on the market.

Apart from that, the JBL On Stage 3 can be connected to other devices, such as digital-music and CD players, games consoles, notebooks and desktop PCs via the supplied 3.5mm mini-jack cable, so there's a whole bunch of new stuff this baby can do.

The JBL On Stage 3iPod dock is powered by six AA batteries, which is great, since they can be effortlessly purchased from any department store.

[IMG=2]Among other technical features included in the specification list, the docking station features four built-in Odyssey loudspeakers providing 6-watt-per-channel and a full remote system control, which is said to work from a distance of up to 10 meters, meaning no party interruption to play your favorite tunes.

In addition, some pretty cool interchangeable trim rings are available for color customization of your JBL On Stage 3 to match your iPod nano.

And if you're wondering about the pricing and availability details, the JBL On Stage 3 will be available from October in black or white color versions. Sadly, there is no official info on the device's price yet.

And hey, don't they look like glossy black Frisbees? Oh, and thanks for the photo, Gizmag!
