Looking for a way to cut down the costs for long distance calls and using instant messaging on your mobile phone? Apparently, with an application called Nimbuzz you can now do that. And it doesn't really matter what mobile phone you are currently using because the app is designed to work with over 500 mobile phone models as well as with Windows XP-based PCs.

Also, if you're the kind of person that would rather not download various software
onto the mobile phone, you should know that the Nimbuzz is also available for all Internet capable mobile phones by using the mobile browser.

"This release is a major step towards our next goal: connecting all major VoIP - communities on the Internet with the mobile for Chat, Voice and various Messaging services", stated Evert Jaap Lugt (CEO). "Nimbuzz is now testing the Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ and Skype connectivity, wait and see".

The Nimbuzz is free for downloading and you won't have to pay any monthly charges for the use of the application aside from the usual rate paid to mobile operators. It enables users to chat with their buddies or family cheaper than before.

Aside from IM, you will also be able to make international calls at the cheapest local rates with the help of this application, provided you have the Nimbuzz installed on both the phone you are using and the other person's phone. Additional features include mobile-to-mobile calls at local cost, free group text messaging as well as the ability to place group calls with up to 5 buddies through either Nimbuzz, Gtalk or MSN Messenger.
