Paul Thurrott, who has previously talked about the pricing model for the Xbox 720, says that his original report delivered one piece of mistaken information liked to the cheapest version of the device, which will be launched using a subscription model.

The source states via Twitter that, "By the way, I did screw up one thing: The $299 version of Xbox v.Next will come with a $15/mo XBLG subscription, not $10. Sorry about that."

Another user confirmed that the subscription model will allow all members of the family to create Xbox Live Gold accounts, engage in multiplayer matches and get access to extra content.

Microsoft is holding an official reveal event for the Xbox 720 on May 21 but it's unlikely to include full information on pricing, especially given the fact that Sony is not talking about how much the PlayStation 4 will cost.
