Korean handset manufacturer, Samsung has just announced that it will launch a low-budget dual SIM feature-phone, E1252. The phone will be available by the end of the year in Russia and India and will probably be released in other countries too, afterwards.

The new Samsung E1252 mobile phone is one of the cheapest Dual SIM handsets on the market and will most likely be a strong competitor for the earlier released Nokia C2 and Nokia C1-00.

Further, it seems that Samsung E1252 dual SIM phone will have the advantage of being cheaper than the two Nokia models.

The Samsung low-end phone will be sold in India for about $45 USD and will probably bear the same price tag in Russia as well, where it should be available in November.

For comparison, Nokia C2 can be bought for no less than $78 USD, while C1-00 is much cheaper and can be acquired for $50 USD.

The handset measures 113 x 47 x 13.9 millimeters and weighs 77g (including battery). The phone is dual-band and only works on GSM 900/1800 MHz networks. The phonebook can record up to 1000 contacts, but data transfers are not supported.

The E1252 comes with a 2-inch TFT display with 262k colors support and 128x160 pixels resolution.

The phone also lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion and only includes 770 kilobytes internal memory. There's no camera or MP3 player, just an FM radio and a LED flashlight on top of the phone.

It may seem unrealistic, but the manufacturer claims that the 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery can last for 26 days of standby.

It is not certain when the cheap dual SIM phone will hit the shelves, but we know that the first countries that will get it are Russia and India. More updates after the official announcement.
