The smartphone ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box

Indian handset maker Lava Mobile has just announced the immediate availability of one of the cheapest Android smartphones in the country, IRIS 351.

According to AndroidOS, Lava IRIS 351 is now available for purchase via major retailers across India for only Rs 3,899 outright, which is about $75 or €55. Check it out here.

The smartphone ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system out of the box and packs a single processor clocked at 1 GHz.

It offers dual-SIM connectivity and sports a decent 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 320 pixels resolution.

The Lava IRIS 351 features 256MB of RAM and 512MB of storage (110MB user available), as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). A 2-megapixel rear camera is included as well.
